1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Tewtor.ai ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Tewtor.ai is an AI-powered educational platform that provides:

  • AI tutoring and personalized learning assistance
  • Automated presentation generation from study materials
  • Document analysis and summarization
  • Interactive visualizations and learning tools
  • Class and material organization features
  • AI-powered quiz generation and grading
  • Specialized AI agents for data analysis, essay writing, study guide creation, and resume writing
  • AP exam practice with spaced repetition
  • Study guide extraction and viewing
  • Referral program for earning rewards

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Share copyrighted materials without permission
  • Use the Service to generate harmful or malicious content
  • Violate any academic integrity policies of your institution
  • Abuse or exploit the AI system for commercial purposes without authorization
  • Upload files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Abuse the referral program through fake accounts or fraudulent referrals

5. Subscription and Payment

We offer multiple subscription tiers:

  • Free Tier: Limited messages, presentations, and basic features
  • Pro Tier: Higher usage limits, priority support, and access to advanced agents
  • Premium Tier: Highest usage limits, all features, and premium support

Subscriptions are managed through our payment provider, Clerk Commerce. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges at the applicable rate. You may cancel at any time through your account settings, but no refunds are provided for partial billing periods. Tier changes take effect immediately.

6. Referral Program

Our referral program allows you to earn rewards by inviting others to use the Service. By participating, you agree that:

  • Referral codes must be shared in good faith with real individuals
  • Creating fake accounts or self-referrals to earn rewards is prohibited and may result in account termination
  • Rewards (such as temporary Pro Mode access) are granted at our discretion and may be modified or discontinued
  • We reserve the right to revoke rewards obtained through fraudulent means

7. File Uploads and User Content

The Service allows you to upload files including documents, resumes, study materials, and datasets. By uploading content, you agree that:

  • You own or have the right to upload the content
  • Uploaded files are stored securely on cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Storage)
  • Files may be processed by AI models to provide the Service (e.g., text extraction, analysis)
  • You are responsible for removing any sensitive personal information before uploading
  • File size limits and storage quotas apply based on your subscription tier
  • We may delete uploaded files after a period of inactivity in accordance with our data retention policy

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a license to:

  • Process and analyze your content to provide the Service
  • Store your content securely on our servers
  • Use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our AI models

All AI-generated content (presentations, summaries, essays, study guides, resumes, quiz questions, and chat responses) is owned by you. We do not claim ownership of outputs generated through the Service.

9. Privacy and Data

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data. We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your information.

10. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Our platform uses multiple AI models and specialized agents to assist with learning. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information
  • You are responsible for verifying all AI-generated content before relying on it
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI responses
  • AI should be used as a learning aid, not a replacement for critical thinking or professional advice
  • AI-generated quizzes and study materials may not fully align with your curriculum or exam requirements
  • AP practice questions are AI-generated and are not endorsed by or affiliated with the College Board
  • AI-generated resumes and essays should be reviewed and personalized before use
  • Data analysis results should be independently verified for accuracy

11. AI Agents and Specialized Services

The Service includes specialized AI agents that perform specific tasks. When using these agents:

  • Agent outputs (presentations, essays, data analysis, study guides, resumes) are generated by AI and may require manual review and editing
  • Files uploaded for agent processing (datasets, resumes, documents) are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • Agent availability and capabilities may change without prior notice
  • Code execution environments used by agents (e.g., for data analysis) are sandboxed but you should not upload sensitive credentials or secrets

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tewtor.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content, loss of data, or service interruptions. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months.

13. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with or without notice. This includes changes to features, AI models, subscription tiers, pricing, and usage limits. We may also update these Terms of Service periodically, and continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at our discretion if you violate these terms or engage in harmful behavior. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may request export of your data prior to termination in accordance with applicable laws.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Tewtor.ai is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
